The Last Day In Human Geography

The last day is here, not the world, but rather Human Geography class. But no fear, I will still be updating this exact same blog when I go about my Western Civilization class next semester. Luckily, I have a three day weekend (because of Martin Luther King Day), which allows me to compile my thoughts prior to starting this new class. I'm almost certain I'll enjoy this class, though I still have mixed feelings over what we learned in this class. I'm certain a fair amount of it will help in the future, though I feel as if I haven't had time to take a deep dive into each separate subject. I'm really looking forward to getting into Western Civilization, and I really hope we take a deep dive into each separate subject unlike what we did in Human Geography. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy Human Geography, because I did, it's just that since a lot of these subjects require a lot of detail, I felt as if we may not be able to formulate accurate opinions on these subjects. 

With that said, I'm excited for this next week (and this weekend!). Till next time!

As discussed yesterday, we were instructed to write an essay question which would be used on the upcoming test. As a matter of fact, we were informed that our test (or at least part of it) is going to be during our class time this Thursday. Meaning we have a fair amount of time to study still; though, we expect to receive more information regarding the format of the test soon. Cyber Day; Post Nine

In light of yesterday's assignment, we were instructed today to reflect on our accountability throughout these times of social distancing. This includes: actively participating in social distancing, cleaning ourselves, and giving our best efforts to remain home. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that everyone takes these guidelines too seriously. I've seen plenty of people online going about their normal hangouts with large groups of friends, rather than distancing themselves to slow the spread. Weeks ago, we were struggling to perform tests. Now it seems that the FDA approval time has been expedited for the purpose of introducing faster COVID-19 testing kits as well as possible vaccines. There seems to be a lot of de-regulation occurring to allow businesses to survive in such a harsh time. Simply put, if no-ones out there spending money, the economy will not grow (or will have very little growth). As a student, I find myself more stressed out than usual since I'm locked

Today, rather than a deep analysis of a new subject, we were instead instructed to find two images of classical Greece Architecture. A subject which I truly enjoy learning about. Those images are posted directly below:  First Image: The Parthenon, Acropolis of Athens Likely one of the most recognizable structures in Greece would be the massive structure located on the hill of Acropolis, The Parthenon. This structure was likely created over an eleven-year span (447 BC - 438 BC) and was dedicated to the goddess Athena. The structure, incredibly after over 2,000 years still remains intact; though somewhat damaged from the years of exposure it's been put through. It is also important to realize that this structure stood as a symbol for the religions which the Greeks practiced since it represented one of their goddesses'.
