I'm Even More Sick

Having slept for the past 20-ish hours, It's safe to say I will not be returning to school tomorrow. I haven't even turned on my computer once in about four entire days, mostly because I have been sleeping and staring at my wall while in bed.

With that said, I continue to be sick. Till next time...

Today we focused on the key question of what truly makes up Human Geography. It is incredible the depths you can go to while exploring each branch. First of all, Human Geography deals with the study of all aspects of life from the Environment all the way to the Economy of certain regions and countries. With that said, a point was made today that we can learn quite a lot by looking at thematic maps  which can chart anything about a general area such as it's average citizen energy use or maybe their calorie intake per day. By comparing certain areas you can sometimes see substantial differences which can assist in researching geographic issues such as an influx of population or even a lack of exercise. While thematic maps can be useful for gathering data, they may not give you the landscape or the climate of a general area as a Physical Map  would. Cyber Day; Post 23

Today as we took extensive notes on slides 23-31, we were also informed to keep several questions in mind. Those being where, how, why, and who fought in the Punic Wars, the focal point of today's lesson. Further, as our slides had discussed, Hannibal was to be mentioned as he had a large impact upon these dreadful wars. As I'll be focusing more on the Punic Wars as a whole, I will be breaking down the wars into the following categories: How, Where, Why, and Who. Also, there will be a personal analysis category. Even more Demographic Transition

After two classes (sort of) focusing solely on Demographic Transition and its 5 stages, I believe I'm starting to fully understand why these stages occur. For the most part, we can attribute these different stages to the medical field though other factors such as family culture and even religion. I asked several questions throughout the class regarding the reasoning behind why these stages haven't occurred much faster throughout history. It was then explained to me by Mr. Schick that it mostly medical advances which altered the speed in how these stages work.
