A Quick Review

Today, similar to other classes, we reviewed for our quiz tomorrow. Sadly, the results of my last quiz could've been better, having a grade of an 83%, which I surely did not want. In my defense, I had been absent for the entirety of the last week, which meant I prepared to the best of my ability. Unfortunately, I have terrible time management and It's surely not helped by the fact that I cannot take the textbook home from which I need to read from. Though, as I am writing this in class while we are done, I am debating asking Mr. Schick if I can bring home one of his textbooks. Just as an update, I did so and he politely said yes, I'm beyond confident that If I can manage my time well tonight, then I will be more than fine with the test tomorrow. To be honest, anything at this point in which I will be up to date on, will surely enable me to increase my 83% in this class. We also continued to ask questions regarding the process of mummification which I'll admit, is pretty creepy. Just the process of touching all sorts of human body parts just so that person (who you have to be awfully loyal to) can get into what they believe is the afterlife.

Lastly, we watched Steve Martin break it down on SNL. Pretty funny but very old (definitely not saying he didn't age too well).

As discussed yesterday, we were instructed to write an essay question which would be used on the upcoming test. As a matter of fact, we were informed that our test (or at least part of it) is going to be during our class time this Thursday. Meaning we have a fair amount of time to study still; though, we expect to receive more information regarding the format of the test soon. Cyber Day; Post Nine

In light of yesterday's assignment, we were instructed today to reflect on our accountability throughout these times of social distancing. This includes: actively participating in social distancing, cleaning ourselves, and giving our best efforts to remain home. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that everyone takes these guidelines too seriously. I've seen plenty of people online going about their normal hangouts with large groups of friends, rather than distancing themselves to slow the spread. Weeks ago, we were struggling to perform tests. Now it seems that the FDA approval time has been expedited for the purpose of introducing faster COVID-19 testing kits as well as possible vaccines. There seems to be a lot of de-regulation occurring to allow businesses to survive in such a harsh time. Simply put, if no-ones out there spending money, the economy will not grow (or will have very little growth). As a student, I find myself more stressed out than usual since I'm locked

Today, rather than a deep analysis of a new subject, we were instead instructed to find two images of classical Greece Architecture. A subject which I truly enjoy learning about. Those images are posted directly below:  First Image: The Parthenon, Acropolis of Athens Likely one of the most recognizable structures in Greece would be the massive structure located on the hill of Acropolis, The Parthenon. This structure was likely created over an eleven-year span (447 BC - 438 BC) and was dedicated to the goddess Athena. The structure, incredibly after over 2,000 years still remains intact; though somewhat damaged from the years of exposure it's been put through. It is also important to realize that this structure stood as a symbol for the religions which the Greeks practiced since it represented one of their goddesses'.
