Today, rather than a deep analysis of a new subject, we were instead instructed to find two images of classical Greece Architecture. A subject which I truly enjoy learning about. Those images are posted directly below:

First Image: The Parthenon, Acropolis of Athens

FairyLand: Greece...
Likely one of the most recognizable structures in Greece would be the massive structure located on the hill of Acropolis, The Parthenon. This structure was likely created over an eleven-year span (447 BC - 438 BC) and was dedicated to the goddess Athena. The structure, incredibly after over 2,000 years still remains intact; though somewhat damaged from the years of exposure it's been put through. It is also important to realize that this structure stood as a symbol for the religions which the Greeks practiced since it represented one of their goddesses'. Through the wars, fires, looters, weather, and use it has undergone, it is a true culmination of the Greek's strong engineering ability that they were able to create such a piece of art and structure.

Second Image: Erechtheion, Acropolis of Athens
File:The Porch of the Caryatids, The Erechtheion ...Just as The Parthenon was constructed on the Acropolis of Athens, so was the Erechtheion. The Erechtheion was constructed in about a 15-year span (421 BC - 406 BC) and stood as a home to the statue of the Goddess Athena, just as The Parthenon was constructed as a dedication to the goddess. I would be amiss if I didn't review the historic presence around this structure as well. It is believed that the Greek legend (and king in the Iliad) Erichthonius, is buried very close to the structure. It's also worth pointing out that a large amount of the marble for this structure were taken from Mount Pentelikon.

Personal Thoughts:
As any regular viewers of this blog are aware, I am fascinated by the design and effort which was put forth during this age of revolution. In my other studies, such as religion, I see Jesus depicted in areas with much worse architecture even though they were constructed over 400 years later. There's no doubt in my mind that in 400 years, our design and structures will be unrecognizable compared to what advances we will have made by then. I also hope that they continue to care for these immense structures; so that, one day I will be able to visit them and take in the presence of being around such an ancient work of art.
